Thank you so much for reading! Tell me who makes your favorite burger? I would love suggestions of where I should try next.

Samburger Genesis - Scaddy's

On my quest for the most delicious burger, Scaddy's is the obvious place to start. At least for me it is. Mostly because I love it and also because it is about 45 seconds from my house, convenient. If you haven't heard of it before it is because you are one of those unlucky saps that doesn't live in northern Utah, and for that shame on you and your family. Not really, at the very least I suppose I could live with you just feeling a little bit jealous.
Scaddy's had the not-so-original idea of offering their community yet another burger restaurant. However, they pride themselves on doing it right. Their secret: freshness.
Everything is made to order from fresh ingredients and you can tell.
Scaddy's is one of those places that has a cult following of loyal people who can no longer buy burgers anywhere else without their souls whimpering in disappointment. More than once I have had the experience of eating a non-Scaddy's burger and then leaning to my wife and whispering "Scaddy's is better". I'm sure you can tell that I am a bit biased about Scaddy's and that is because this is my favorite burger place right now ('now' being the key word. Meaning that my opinion could change in the future).
This particular trip started by passing a lovely celebrity endorsement on their sign. I tried the scone once but never again, I chipped my front teeth on it and it tasted asphalt, no wonder Chuck Norris is a fan. Just a joke, no I haven't yet tried their scones but I'm sure Mr. Norris wouldn't lead the public astray.
My wife rolls her eyes every time I order my meal because I always get the same thing: The Wayne Burger. But she has no room to talk because she only ever orders the egg burger.
Now, the Wayne burger is named after the restaurant owner Wayne Scadlock who I would not say is very large man, (I know because he introduced himself to us while we were eating breakfast there once, cool guy) however if he were a representation of his burger he would be enormous. In fact while I was browsing the online menu I noticed that after the words Wayne Burger was the single adjective BIG! Appropriate. It's a large burger as you can see from the photo and it never disappoints. It comes with three slices of American cheese, however I ordered it with cheddar this time just to be different. The purist in me hates to admit it but truly this burger is better with American cheese, it just is.
The main reason I always order the Wayne is the bacon, if ever you have bacon as an option, just . . . Bacon.
Because of its size this is a burger that you have to eat quickly and you had better not put it down between bites because it will try to crumble into a hamburger salad of some sort, albeit a salad I would actually enjoy. It's a lot of burger.
The egg burger is my wife's favorite and it has, you guessed it, an egg on it. It is very very good and I always steal at least one bite. I've always wanted to try a Wayne Burger con huevos which I'm sure they would do for anyone who asked.
They also have a very good philly cheesesteak sandwich but if you ask me, the Wayne is better.
They also make very good onion rings with some kind of magic batter that is of some texture I've never seen replicated. Their fries, like everything else on the menu, are very fresh. However they are just "eh". I've never been real impressed with their fries. I think they need to cook a few minutes longer to make them crispier.
They serve a plethora of items from fresh battered corn dogs to ham and swiss grilled sandwich. I did have one disappointment months ago when I ordered a milkshake. Yeah, never again. I'll stick with their burgers.
They also make an AMAZING breakfast. Seriously folks, amazing. Their stuffed Swedish pancakes are served with homemade 3 berry jam. . . Yes please.
Also, I have to make a this point. My wife will disagree with me, actually she will call me insane and that I am tasting something that just is not there, so take it for what it's worth but the water that comes out of the fountain at the Scaddy's in Murray is gross. Yes, I know what you're saying "wait. . . you're reviewing their water? Get a life man". I understand it seems like I'm splitting hairs on this issue but I wouldn't mention it if it wasn't something that really stood out to me. The water isn't bad, not 'meh', it's just gross. I don't know what it is but I can't drink it. Get on it Scaddy's, that one seems pretty simple.
As you can see Scaddy's is not without it's flaws but their quality and taste make up for it. Perhaps their biggest flaw, from a consumer point of view, is the price. They are quite spendy. A Wayne burger is over $7, and that's just the burger alone without fries or a drink. Needless to say we only go to Scaddy's when we find a bogo coupon. (Check your Valpaks in the mail and the Murray city calendar)
There you have it. I loooooove Scaddy's and I recommend any of their burgers to anyone, as I've tried them all. But of all the burgers the Wayne is THE burger on the menu. So, to anyone who has a palate for quality, give Scaddy's a try and prepare to be impressed.
